She may have skin the colour of a satsuma but Paris Hilton is no fool.

She arrived at Heathrow wearing her own brand T-shirt and carrying a handbag from her new fashion line to get maximum publicity from the waiting photographers.

But as soon as the snappers were gone she dashed into Accessorize and bought some comfy clothes for her transatlantic flight back to LA. A staff member revealed:

"She blew £400 on new clothes."
