Nicole Eases Labour Fears With Hypnotism'

Simple Life star and mum-to-be Nicole Richie has reportedly enlisted the services of a hypnotist to prepare her for the pain of childbirth.

The 26-year-old daughter of legendary singer Lionel Richie is in the final stage of her first pregnancy with 28-year-old musician boyfriend Joel Madden and is expected to give birth any day.

Nervous about her ability to handle the pain involved with labour, Nicole has turned to hypnotherapy to help her prepare for the big event.

US columnist Janet Charlton said: "The therapist is helping Nicole to relax, stay calm and think positive thoughts as the big day approaches."

Meanwhile, the petite LA socialite has moved in with the baby's father rocker Joel in time for the imminent arrival of their new addition.

Hypnotism is proving popular among young pregnant celebrities as Nicole joins British singer Lily Allen who used the alternative therapy to quit smoking after finding out she was expecting her first child.
