IT was a launch party to raise awareness on the benefits of interacting with pets.

The furry animals were, technically, supposed to be the stars at the New York event but the daughter of Hollywood actors Bruce Willis and Demi Moore stole their thunder.

All because Rumer Willis came in a plunging black dress - without bras - that left little to the imagination, reported the Daily Mail.

However, the young woman was later seen wearing a jacket over her dress.

Apart from her revealing dress fashion faux pas, Rumer also drew attention to her feet.

She wore a pair of garish yellow ballet pumps.

In recent years, 19-year-old Rumer has appeared regularly on the red carpet and is often spotted at Hollywood nightclubs - despite being two years shy of the legal drinking age in California.

She took on minor roles alongside her parents in Striptease, Hostage and The Whole Ten Yards.

HITTING BACK

However, her fledgling acting career receives a boost after she nailed bigger roles in upcoming movies The House Bunny, From Within and Wild Cherry.

She was in the news recently after she hit back at Internet gossips who criticised her prominent chin, which she inherited from her famous father.

At a press conference for The House Bunny, Rumer told US TV network E!: 'Everybody has an opinion, and we live in America so you're allowed to.

'As long as you are comfortable with who you really are and your friends, and the people that are around you know that, that's all that really matters.

'Hopefully, young girls will watch this and feel confident about themselves and go: 'OK, that girl's not entirely the ideal of what a perfect picture is supposed to be and she feels confident and beautiful, then I can too'.

'If we can have the ability to do that, I'm very excited about that.'

Other celebrities who turned up at the Power of Paws launch party at the Helen Mills Gallery were Nicky Hilton - the sister of Hollywood party girl Paris - NBA reporter Joumana Kidd and former America's Next Top Model contestant CariDee English.

Power of Paws is a new initiative that intends to give people new reasons and ways to build and strengthen the bond with their pets for better mental, emotional and physical health.
