Repo The Genetic Opera Gets a Review July 19, 2008 The first review for REPO The Genetic Opera from the creator of SAW has gone online at HorrorMovies.ca Its a reasonable review that seems to indicate that this new movie is .... genius? Quotting the writer ( Serena ) I have to give it up to Darren Bousman for delivering this film, which will define him as a soon to be a visionary director. Helming both the stage and film version, Bousman demonstrates his undying passion for this project and although trying to set himself apart from the franchise he had left behind, he still remembers who his fans are and delivers both Saw fans and newcomers a movie experience they will never forget. The first 15 minutes of this horror musical are absolutely mind blowing on a visionary level. It sets the tone for the rest of the film and the audience is offered a film that blends in the perfect elements from films such as Blade Runner, Rocky Horror Picture Show, and Phantom of the Opera. (A combination that I would never expect to see in a horror film.) You can read the entire review right here: Repo Genetic Opera Review. The premise of the film, which stars Paris Hilton (UGH) goes like this; In the year 2056 the not so distant future an epidemic of organ failures devastates the planet. Out of the tragedy, a saviour emerges: GeneCo, a biotech company that offers organ transplants for a price. Those who miss their payments are scheduled for repossession and hunted by villainous Repo Men. In a world where surgery addicts are hooked on painkilling
drugs and murder is sanctioned by law, a sheltered young girl searches
for the cure to her own rare disease as well as information about her
familys mysterious history. After being sucked into the haunting
world of GeneCo, she is unable to turn back, as all of her questions
will be answered at the wildly anticipated spectacular event: The Genetic
Opera. From-http://www.moviesonline.ca/movienews_15083.html |
