Paris Hilton Trying For a Baby For Publicity?

Paris Hilton is reportedly desperately trying to get pregnant with boyfriend Benji Madden - because she’s worried her fame is being usurped by new celebrity mums.

2008 has seen a rush of celebrity babies - including Paris’ on-off best friend Nicole Richie and A-list stars including Nicole Kidman, Jessica Alba and, of course, Angelina Jolie - and Paris is said to be keen to join the party sooner rather than later.

A source told the New York Post: “She’s jealous of all the attention Nicole Richie has been getting and knows she’s fallen off in the tabs lately.

“A baby would put her back in the news.”

Paris started dating the Good Charlotte star in February, who is the uncle of Richie’s daughter Harlow with fiance Joel Madden. She has repeated said she would like to have a family before she’s 30, and more recently, within a year. Last month, she sparked rumours that she was already expecting by wearing a bump-creating smock dress.
